Privacy Policy

Last updated September 23, 2026

This policy explains what information FlameCut collects when you use the FlameCut desktop app and the website at flamecut.studio, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. FlameCut ("we", "us") is responsible for your personal data.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run FlameCut:

  • Account details. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We also store your language preference and credit balance.
  • Audio for processing. When you process a video, the app extracts its audio track and sends it to our servers for transcription. Your video files stay on your computer.
  • Project data. Project and video names, where each video is stored on your computer, technical details such as duration and resolution, transcripts, suggested cuts, and your edits such as captions, headlines and split screens.
  • Purchases. The credit packs you buy, what you paid, and Stripe payment references. You enter your card details on Stripe's checkout, and they never reach our servers.
  • Support requests. The email address, message and screenshots you send us, along with your app version and platform.
  • Technical data. The IP address and browser or device details of each signed-in session, a keyed hash of your IP address at sign-up to prevent abuse of free credits, and anonymous page-view statistics on our website.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • transcribe your audio, suggest cuts and save your projects;
  • process purchases and keep your credit balance accurate;
  • answer support requests;
  • prevent fraud and abuse and keep FlameCut secure;
  • deliver app updates and understand how our website is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your videos, audio or transcripts to train AI models.

Legal bases

Where data protection laws such as Brazil's LGPD or the EU GDPR apply, we process your information to perform our contract with you (providing FlameCut), for our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and improving the service), to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting records), and with your consent where the law requires it.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run FlameCut, and only what each one needs:

  • AI providers that transcribe your audio and suggest cuts
  • Our payment processor, which handles purchases
  • Google and Microsoft, when you use them to sign in
  • Hosting providers for our servers, database and website
  • An email provider that delivers your support messages to us

These providers handle data under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or of FlameCut, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

International transfers

Our providers process data in several countries, including the United States and China. When your information leaves your country, we transfer it only as data protection laws allow.

How long we keep it

  • Audio sent for transcription is deleted from our servers as soon as the transcription finishes.
  • Account and project data are kept while your account is active.
  • When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and project data within 30 days.
  • Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after your account is deleted.
  • Support messages are kept only as long as we need them to resolve your request.

Security

Traffic between the app, the website and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS, and the keys for our providers stay on our servers instead of shipping inside the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach when the law requires it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to know who we share it with, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent. To make a request, contact us through the support form below. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the ANPD in Brazil.

Data on your computer

The desktop app reads your videos where they are, keeps temporary audio previews in your system's temporary folder, and saves exports where you choose. It also keeps the cookie that signs you in. We cannot access files on your computer: the app sends us only the audio and project data described above.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our website statistics do not use cookies.

Children

FlameCut is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FlameCut changes. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
